Swati Prasad Pyda is a movement artist, wellness practitioner, and social entrepreneur with over a decade of experience across Odissi, Kalaripayattu, and Yoga. As the founder of Kommunity, she combines her artistic training and entrepreneurial vision to build a movement wellness platform rooted in ancestral practice and grounded in contemporary science.
Swati's relationship with yoga began in her youth in India, shaping her approach to life and movement long before it became a professional practice. She is a certified yoga teacher in both India (SVYASA) and the US, and a NASM-certified coach with a focus on women's health and corrective exercise - bringing precision and an evidence-based lens to everything she teaches.
Her artistic calling took root in Odissi, a classical Indian dance form she has trained in and performed for over a decade, and continues to nurture her creative pursuits. Her Kalaripayattu practice runs even deeper: 15 years of training under teachers including Krishna Pratap in Bangalore, Attakalari, and Hindusthan Kalari Sangam, with the last 5 years spent formally teaching the practice, including over a year at Broome Street Yoga in NYC.
Kalari has become a central catalyst in Swati's movement wellness work, drawing her deeper into its spiritual and healing dimensions. Her own path through injury and recovery has only sharpened her focus on how bodies move, heal, and return to strength - insight she is now channeling into The Kommunity Method, a program in development that fuses traditional Kalari structure with evidence-backed mobility work.
Through Kommunity, Swati creates space where ancestral practice meets modern life - offering workshops, city classes, park sessions, and residencies in India that invite urban audiences into a grounded, embodied path toward resilience and well-being.
